Todellakin, muiden muassa Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age ja #Dwarves -yhtyeissä vaikuttaneen laulaja-basisti Nick Oliverin luotsaama stoner metal -bändi Mondo Generator saapuu yllätyskeikalle Looseen!!! Yhtyeen maanantainen Tavastian keikka oli tutusti rouhivan raskas ja sähköinen. Loosessa Mondo Generator esiintyy poikkeuksellisesti akustisella setillä, joten yhtyeen tuotanto asettuu täysin uuteen valoon. Tosin, ei akustinen tuotanto täysin vierasta Oliverin diskografiassa ole, sillä QOTSA-välirikon jälkeen Oliveri julkaisi ensimmäisen Demolition Day -nimeä kantavan soololevynsä, joka oli sovitukseltaan juurikin akustinen. Todellista herkkua tiedossa ja keikalle on VAPAA PÄÄSY!

Faktaa: Mondo Generator on vuonna 1997 perustettu yhtye, jonka ensimmäisellä levyllä – Cocaice Rodeo – soitti muiden muassa QOTSA-kippari Josh Homme. Yhtyeen jäsenistö on vaihdellut Oliveria lukuunottamatta vuosien varrella. Kaiken kaikkiaan Mondo Generator on julkaissut neljä albumia uransa aikana.

Laulaja-basisti Nick Oliverin luotsaama stoner metal bändi Mondo Generator saapuu Suomeen osana Euroopan-kiertuettaan. Mm. Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Agesta ja Dwarves yhtyeissä vaikuttanut Oliveri perusti Mondo Generatorin vuonna 1997. Yhtye on julkaissut 4 albumia, joista kootaan nyt koittavan kiertueen alla ilmestyvä best of -kokoelmalevy. Yhtye esiintyy Tavastialla maanantaina 12. syyskuuta.

”Olemme todella odottaneet tilaisuutta päästä esiintymään Suomeen uudelleen”, kertoo Oliveri viestissään. ”Fanit olivat aivan uskomattomia viime kerralla ja nyt olemme todella otettuja myös siitä, että pääsemme tällä kertaa soittamaan Tavastialle, yhdelle Euroopan vanhimmista rock-klubeista”.

Mondo Generator, fronted by bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri, is scheduled to headline the two-day Black Bass Festival in Braud-Et-St-Louis (Gironde), in southwestern France. The band will perform on Saturday, September 3, the second night of the event.

“This is going to be a killer show,” noted Oliveri. “It marks a strong return of the band to the European festival circuit, and is one of many great shows we have scheduled for our upcoming European and Scandinavian tour this fall.”

HELSINKI, FINLAND — 22nd of January, 2016 — Mondo Generator, featuring Nick Oliveri of Queens of the Stone Age and the Dwarves, announced that it has chosen Rockhopper to book the band in Scandinavia.

Mondo Generator is the brainchild of renowned bassist/songwriter and heavy music veteran Nick Oliveri (aka Rex Everything). With a career that spans a decade plus and includes four full length albums and numerous singles on labels worldwide, along with multiple world tours and festival appearances, influential is an understatement.

In 1997 Nick focused on developing Mondo Generator, while also finding time to continue playing with the Dwarves and Queens of the Stone Age. With Nick at the production helm and Steve Feldman manning the controls at Monkey Studios in Palm Desert, CA, they unleashed Mondo’s brutal and notorious debut album Cocaine Rodeo (Southern Lord Records) to the world. Eleven tracks recorded in the desert that melded stoner rock and punk with seething raw production, he recruited fellow musicians Brent Malkus (aka Burnt Mattress) and Rob Oswald (aka Up N. Syder) to round out the band. It also features his old band mates from the Kyuss years: Chris Goss, Brant Bjork, John Garcia and Josh Homme on select tracks.

“Mondo Generator has a huge following in Scandinavia, but hasn’t toured in the region for several years,” noted Archie Dani from Rockhopper’s Los Angeles office. “We are thrilled to welcome Mondo Generator back to fans who love them.”

The band is currently recording its latest album, which will be released toward the end of summer of 2016. Nick and his Mondo bandmates are planning extensive tours through Europe and Scandinavia to support their latest—and heaviest—release.
